The Sauze

There had been talk of lift acessed trails in Sauze d'oulx in a few of our favourite bike mags, so in the depths of a London winter I booked flights, and the cheapest chalet I could find, so we could head out and see what the fuss was about.

Italian mass transport is the greatest. The journey from Turin to Sauze D'Oulx cost a migty 7 euros each. And it went like clockwork, despite dragging bike bags and rucksacks accross the streets of central turin. The chalet was snug, and Cal and I drew the short straw, having to share a bed that could only be described as small. But yeah, the bolognese and pasta was cheap at the local supermarket, and the weather and scenery were top notch. What was not to like?

The lifts were closed on the first day. Despite saving us on lift passes, extra food conumption probably made up for that. Henry having a rest after the first thousand meters of up that day

The down was totally worth it. Cal on the ridge with only 800 meters to descend to tea

Dave found a picturesque place to rest. It was a good four days...

The fifth day of getting bikes back throiugh Turin, was a bit more hectic. Thankfully, Ice Cream shops were plentyfull.
